The Walden building, not without controversy, is considered one of the landmarks of Catalan architecture of the 20th century, conceived and designed by the Taller d’Arquitectura and its team, among whom Ricard Bofill stands out. Born from a utopian sentiment, framed within the spirit of “May 68”, its construction began in 1972. After some structural problems, it was rehabilitated in 1993. Since then, it has become an icon of the municipality, recognizable from a distance. In addition, almost a thousand people live inside, a fact that will surprise you even more!
You can access the Walden building through an arranged visit, but it is also clearly visible from the outside, along with the Workshop and the chimney.
