This is a spectacular medieval farmhouse, renovated in 1904, adopting many of the characteristic features of Modernism. The architect Marcel·lià Coquillat -responsible for other Modernist projects in the town- was responsible for these changes, adding neo-Gothic features and unique elements such as the chapel. Inside, the presence of stucco, leaded stained glass windows, hydraulic floors and a ceramic arrambador designed by Lluís Bru stands out.
Since 1978 it has been owned by the City Council and has well-prepared facilities for all types of cultural and educational activities, a concierge service and a restaurant service (with an outdoor terrace). You can relax in its garden, of notable dimensions and attractiveness, with good views over the town and the Sant Justenca valley. In addition, it currently houses strategic services such as a civic center with stable programming, the Joan Margarit Municipal Library, exhibition and organization rooms, the CIM room (multipurpose space for exhibitions), visual arts classrooms, the Municipal Archive -which stands out as the driver of some of the town’s most interesting heritage initiatives- and the chapel with the giants.
